Το σχέδιο LACTIMED στοχεύει να ενισχύσει την παραγωγή και διανομή τοπικών και καινοτόμων μεσογειακών γαλακτοκομικών προϊόντων μέσω της οργάνωσης του γαλακτοκομικού τομέα κάθε συμμετέχουσας Περιφέρειας (για την Ελλάδα η Θεσσαλία), της στήριξης των παραγωγών για την πραγματοποίηση των αναπτυξιακών τους σχεδίων και τέλος, της δημιουργίας νέων αγορών για τα προϊόντα τους. Το σχέδιο εφαρμόζεται στο πλαίσιο του προγράμματος IEVP CT MED. Χρηματοδοτείται, για το συνολικό ποσό των 4,35 εκατομμυρίων ευρώ, από την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση διαμέσω της Ευρωπαϊκής Πολιτικής της Γειτονίας και Εταιρικής Σχέσης. Από το Νοέμβριο 2012 έως το Δεκέμβριο 2015, η ANIMA και οι 11 εταίροι θα πραγματοποιήσουν εκατό περίπου οργανωμένες παρεμβάσεις προς όφελος των εμπλεκόμενων φορέων στους γαλακτοκομικούς τομείς της Αλεξάνδρειας και της Beheira (Αίγυπτο), της Bekaa και της Baalbeck-Hermel (Λίβανο), της Bizerte και της Béja (Τυνησία), της Σικελίας (Ιταλία) και της Θεσσαλίας (Ελλάδα).
